Your notes

SmooGo Note stores notebooks, pages, drawings, images, PDFs and audio recordings locally in the protected app storage on your device. We run no servers of our own and receive no content. Files, images and PDFs enter the app only when you choose them; exports happen only when you start them.

iCloud sync (optional)

Only if you turn on sync in the settings is your library synchronised with your other devices through the private iCloud database of your Apple Account. The data is then stored by Apple in your account; we have no access to it. Apple’s privacy policy applies. You can turn sync off at any time; your local notes remain.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while a recording you started is running – on iPhone and iPad also while you switch to another app. The system shows the microphone in use. The recording is saved in your notes.

Transcription and handwriting

Audio recordings are transcribed on the device. The system may download a language pack from Apple once; your recordings do not leave the device. Handwriting and text in images are also recognised on the device.

Apple Intelligence

SmooGo Note’s intelligence features – summarising, finding tasks and suggesting tags – use the system’s on-device language model. SmooGo Note sends no text to us or to other providers for this.

Handoff

When you use Handoff, the system passes the title and identifier of the open page to your other Apple devices so you can continue there. Handoff can be turned off in Settings or System Settings.

What we don’t do

No tracking, no analytics or advertising services, no ads, no account with us. We do not sell data and do not pass data to third parties.

Deletion and your rights

You delete pages and notebooks directly in the app; removing the app deletes its local data. You manage iCloud data in Settings or System Settings under your Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Storage. For access, correction or erasure under the GDPR, contact the provider named below.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

App Store and this website

Downloads, purchases and updates go through Apple’s App Store; Apple’s privacy policy applies.

This website is served by GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes and may process this data in the United States; see the GitHub General Privacy Statement. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads no third-party content. If you pick a field of study on the home page, your browser remembers that choice locally; it is not transmitted.
